I will be gone Wed- Fri for the IMEA All-State Conference
Solo/Ensemble is Mar. 3rd, be looking/practicing with accompanists.
After School solo/ens practice sign-up sheet by door

Warm-Ups:
M, m, aug, dim triads (they will work on memorizing these sounds)
Major solfege scale in a 3-part round

Singing:
"Sim Shalom" all
"Edelweiss" all
"All the Jazz" mm 3- 20

Tues:

(even though you won't be singing, I want you to be thinking about music)

Major solfege scale in 3rds

"All That Jazz"
- review parts mm 3- 20
- learn mm 23 - 37 (44, if time allows)

Wed:

There will be a sub today - Friday

Writing assignment:
Pick one of the songs we are singing: "Sim Shalom", "Edelweiss", or "All That Jazz"
Write about which one you like the most and why (at least 3 paragraphs in a legible hand writing)

When you are done, you may talk quietly (you may sing/play piano if everyone finishes)
If you are not done, you will need to finish it at home and bring it in tomorrow (you may type it at home).

Sub today and Fri

Read the article provided, then write a short summary of the article with your thoughts on the subject.

When you are done, you may talk quietly (you may sing/play piano if everyone finishes)

M triad  (down), P5 (down), 1/2 M scale (up), M triad w/ top "Do" added (up)
 - all will be done with solfege syllable to help memorize the sounds of the scale.

"Edelweiss" all, work on messy parts

1st concert March 16th (only 2 mo. away!)

Warm-Ups:
Major solfege scale in thirds (up and down)
Natural minor scale (up and down)
- these will also all be done with solfege syllables

- focus on learning new parts, and pronounceing Hebrew words

- learn parts

We will be focusing on reading rudimentary notation, and expanding/strengthening the upper/lower ranges.

We will be focusing on explosive consonants and expanding/strengthening the upper/lower ranges
Solfege:
We will be explaining the concept of "do" in solfege and singing a few major scales with solfege syllables.

"Sim Shalom" mm 6 - 24 (33 if possible)
