5/7 - 5/11

Weekly Objectives:
As we prepare for our concert, the students will perfect their parts in all songs and work towards memorization of all but "The Promise of Living" as evidenced by classroom singing.


The students will continue to build their tonal skills through tonal memory drills, and rote learning of songs as warm-ups.


Mon:
Announce/Remind:
T-shirt money ($9) is due to me now!
Our concert is next week, Tues 15th, we'll be there at 5:30 p.m.
The rehearsal is Monday during the finals make-up time.
Our final will consist of singing tests on selected parts of each of the songs (you will be tested on two sections that are to be selected at random from all of our literature)

Warm-ups:
Tonal memory drills
Interval recognition drills
"Zu" 5 1, sliding, moving downwards by half-step
"Za" 1 5, sliding, moving upwards by half-step

Singing:
"Promise of Living" run the entire song until parts are correct.

Tues:
Announce/Remind:
Same as Mon
Our accompanist, Joleen will be here today for 5th hour, tomorrow for 8th hour.

Warm-Ups:
Same as Mon

Singing:
Run "Bridge", "Someone", and "Pretty Woman" once each. Then, go back and fix issues.

Wed:
Announce/Remind:
Same as Mon/Tues

Warm-Ups:
Same as Mon/Tues

Singing:
Same as Tues

Thurs:
Announce/Remind:
Same as rest of week

Warm-Ups:
Abbreviated, just slides

Singing:
Sing all songs:
"Bridge", "Someone", "Pretty Woman", "Promise"
work towards memorization (except on "Promise")

Fri:
Announce/Remind:
Same as rest of week

Warm-Ups:
Learn "Goodnight" round by rote, change parts after
"Zu", 5 1 , sliding, moving downward by half-step
"Za", 1 5 , sliding, moving upward by half-step

Singing:
Sing all songs:
Memorized!
