Mon:
Announcements/Reminders:
Solo and Ensemble contest March 3rd- students need accompanists by the end of the week. Students need to sing for me at least once before the contest, and begin practicing with their accompanists- A LOT.
Our accompanist will be here tomorrow to work through our songs.
Singing test Thursday in two parts.
Friday will be solo tryouts.

Solfege:
Students ID note letter names and their corresponding solfege for a 5-chord four-part progression

Warm-Ups:
There will be a crescendo/decrescendo exercise on the board.
"Zu" - 54321 moving downward by half-steps
"Za" - 154321 moving upward by half-steps

Singing:
"Seasons of Love" (all)- checking parts
"All That Jazz" (all) - checking parts (if time)

Tues:
Announcements/Reminders:
Same as Monday

Warm-Ups:
Tuning exercise- Using the Major triad, each section will work on tuning to each other and keeping a constant pitch
"Zu" - 13531 - moving downward by half-step
"Za" - 151

Singing:
"Edelweiss" - work parts
"All That Jazz" - work parts
"Seasons of Love" - work parts
"Sim Shalom" (if time)

Wed:
Announcements/Reminders:
Same as Monday and Tuesday

Warm-Ups:
Tuning exercise - High Voices will sing half steps and whole steps (D R D T D) while Lows evaluate, then parts will switch.
"Zu" - 531 - moving downward by half-steps and adding a decrescendo on each key
"Za" - 135- moving upward by half-steps and adding a crescendo to each key.

Singing:
"Edelweiss"- Add expression
"All That Jazz" - Add expression

Thurs:
Announcements/Reminders:
Same as Mon-Wed

Warm-Ups:
Improvisation exercise in sections- sing "Seasons of Love " melody from mm 5-6, then teacher adds optional embellishments, which the students can add.

Singing Test:
Two on a part testing pitch, rhythm, words, tuning, and volume for "Seasons of Love" or "All That Jazz"


Fri:
Announcements/Reminders:
Same as Monday


Solo Tryouts:
Students will sing the male/female solos, then do some improvisation over the choir parts.
